My dog always lays down in front of her bowl to eat, does anyone else's dog do this?

..her only other preferred method is to take a few kibbles over to her bed and eat laying down there. that I can almost understand, she came from a shelter in tijuana with many, many dogs that were all fed from the same trough.
she's a standard size dog, maybe 55lbs.
it doesnt bother me and it doesnt seem to bother her, i just thought it odd.
(ive had her a long time, ive just never asked about it)
