My Dodge Intrepid's oil light comes on when stopped--- rough idle sometimes?

I have a (you guessed it) 2.7L engine and this problem started creeping up a couple months ago. The light first came on after I got an oil change and PCV valve replacement; the oil brand was different than the one I usually get but I don't know if that was a problem? (I've since gone back to my regular brand.)

A couple days later after driving about 150 miles I parked the car and turned it off. When I turned it back on again, the whole engine started shaking and the RPM gauge kept going up and down- I shut it off and tried again, same thing. I started driving at about 10 mph, and then it went back to normal after a mile or so. It hasn't happened this badly since but my oil light still always flickers on at stoplights and once in a while I'll get a rough idle at startup.

The engine has always made a very quiet knock but it's also only when I stop. Sometimes when I hit the gas though, the car hesitates before going. I hope it's not sludge! I'm worried it's going to conk out on me one of these days.

FWIW: I have 111,000 miles on the car and this started cropping up at about 100,000.

what i suggest doing is checking your oil level. and my truck had a funny ideal and i just put some of that stuff you get at any auto part store i believe its just fuel cleaner (hasn't done it since). just follow the instructions. and if that doesn't work then its probably sludge.

you may need to have someone check the actual amount of oil pressure its holding and see if its low on oil pressure,as you know those was bad to sludge up and cause loss of oil pressure,ad this will cause the lifters not to function right which will give you a rough idle and bad running condition,it needs to be checked otherwise you may loose an engine over this problem, good luck.
