time to time and starts back up? checked thermostat and put antifreeze in it. It blows cold air out when starting the car, but when the temp gage is half way it still blows cold air if it doesn't stop blowing all together. then about 15 min later while driving it will blow again with a little heat then back to cold then back to not blowing at all
 
it sounds like you have 2 problems, first i think your heater core is plugged you will need to remove the hoses and back flush the heater core. and 2nd you have a bad blower resistor causing the blower to stop working.
