I began temporary employment around two months ago, the contract ends at the beginning of January.
I became ill after two weeks of working, so while at the doctors he gave me a sick line/note to hand to my employer. This has been going on now for about four weeks (the lines) and Im starting to feel a lot better. I had a bad ear infection which was really affecting my balance, then it passed down to my throat, yet again affecting my balance.
I called my doctor last week to get another line for the christmas period, which would no doubt mean I wasnt going to be able to complete my work before the contract ends.
I work in a store and noone has so much as called, so i am not sure where exactly I stand on that front.
My doctor said he would give me one so I ordered it, one week later my father went to collect it for me and the doctor left a note saying he was under the assumption that i was returning to work, therefore he has not wrote me another line.
I am furious in a way because I have had this week off when my doctor said he would give me a line and when i go to collect it he has said no. Which means I have no excuse, as such, for being off this week. To make matters worse, I'm still not 100% better and with two weeks left on my contract Im not even sure if my work want me back, and without a line im worried that they sack me for not providing a line, therefore it'll go down that i've been sacked.
I have called in to my place of employment every week I have been given a sick line and each time they've just told me to call back the following week and let them know how I am feeling.
Its my first job, Im 20.
