my dirt bike shut off by it self?

I'm a beginner of dirt bike. I just go a new dirt bike and it took me so many times to kick start it. After it is started, the problem comes. It shut off by it self if I don't push the gas. I think it should be like the cars... If I leave it started and in neutral it will stay that way, but it didn't. Can anyone help me??? My bike is a GIO X35, I can start it by the button but I think the battery is dead because the button isn't working, it just worked once.
 
You might try adjusting the idle screw that holds the throttle open,also make sure you have the fuel tank shut off valve turned to the right spot, you also could have a fouled spark plug. If it,s not wanting to run.
