I started out under the wing of my Father who was a TLR (Rollieflex Camera) user.
I then decided he didn't know nearly enough for me (spent entirely too much time in the darkroom/bathroom manipulating his work) and took on a home study course with NYIP (New York Institute of Photography).
As a parent, I know you want the best for your Daughter and certainly, you could send her to some Ivy League school or Art Institute to learn what NYIP will teach her without the cost expenditures. The advantage of NYIP is that they cater to her on a personal nature by assigning her to one accomplished instructor throughout her program. She is able to call and talk with him/her, is given assignments, is prompted, encouraged and graded both with audio visual and written responses and is given the tools to become every bit as good (if not better) than those who might go to a $15,000 college (for the first year less books and equipment use).
As a parent myself, I think you and your daughter will both appreciate what NYIP can provide.
