replaced because it? squealed when the A/C was on. Estimate was under $500. She went out of town. When returned mechanic said the A/C compressor was out so he replaced it. Charged $1,200. The a/c was cooling okay when she took it in. When she went to pick it up I told her to get the old compressor. He charged her $70 for it "because he had to take it out of the core". Does this sound kosher????
