Owning land means ONLY that....you own the land. Every bird, fish, or animal that flies, swims or walks across it does NOT belong to the land owner. You STILL need to abide by the laws of the state in which your private mountain is located. Without knowing what state that is, we cannot tell you exactly what you should expect as laws can vary greatly from one state to another. Seasons start and end at different times. Bag limits may be large or small or, in some cases, even nonexistent. Age limits, hunter safety requirements, rifle caliber and magazine restrictions, etc. can all vary from one part of the country to the other. Regardless, they WILL apply to your private land every bit as much as they apply to the public lands and national forests in your state. Ask your local conservation officers to fill you in on the EXACT details, rules and regulations. That's the ONLY safe and sane way to go about the hunting you plan.

You need a hunting license from Oregon and you can only hunt deer in season. Pretty sure this summer is NOT deer season.

You'll still have to abide by seasonal laws.. I'm not encouraging anything shady here but I somehow doubt anyone is going to know if you don't though, it being private land and all.

Just because you own the land doesn't mean you can take game out of season......
