My dad just lost his job this mid-semester of college. Is there a way to receive financial aid?

He was sort of helping me pay some expenses for college. Now, I am suffering a bit of a loss of income. I have a job, but I'm trying not to sacrifice my study for work while also making ends meet. Is there anyway that you know that Federal Aid can step in quickly if I show a loss of income? Thanks!
