my curling iron doesnt heat up anymore..why?

it was working perfectly fine. then i turned it off for like 10 minutes to go eat and when i turned it back on it wasnt heating up. i reallly need to use it and i cant go buy another one ihave no time!!!! what can i do to fix it

and please dont answer saying u should do this instead. my curling iron gives a certain effect and all im trying to do is make it heat up again
