My CRT HDTV has component input but not HDMI, am I fucked on next gen systems?

component is fine. most people can't really tell the difference.

Component is pretty much the same as HDMI, only difference is HDMI has audio built in so there is less stuff to plug in.
 
Except that component is analog and HDMI/DVI is digital. Less signal conversion FTW.

It really depends on if your TV can accept an HD signal over a given cable. Component can send an HD signal just fine, not all TV's can accept that signal over component though, they may require DVI or HDMI.
 
I know the differences between them, and I know there's a small quality difference.

I'm just wondering if the DRM bullshit on the newer gen consoles means they won't output in HD over component at all.
 
Damn dude. I don't have a crystal ball to know what microsoft is going to do in the future with DRM and HDCP requirements. I do know that right now my xbox360 is hooked up with component cables and works flawlessly with an HD signal.
