My computer won't play any noise, how can I get my computer to make noise?

I have a Windows XP and it's a unknown brand name and my computer got like 43 infections (I might be exaggerating) and then my cousin went to clean the hard drive and he restarted everything I used to have sound but now I don't! How Can I download a sound device for my computer! And I can not buy a new computer I barely can afford this one!
