My college application asked for my school and counselor's name. Do i still

have tell my counselor...? that i have applied and that I need her to send my transcripts to the schools i have applied to? Why then, do colleges ask about counselor's name and high school's name that i am currently attending? How do I get my counselors to send in my transcripts? Do i have sign a form or something? Why can't the schools just email the counselors and the counselors send them in ? this process slows everything down!
