My chevy cavalier 1995 is making a really loud clicking/knocking noise from the engine..

...(easy 10 points? hi i have a chevy cavalier 1995 and when i turn it on it makes a loud clicking noise and as the race increses the sound gets faster and louder and the car also heats up really fast what do you guys think it can be its coming from the engine mabe the valve or my lifters are worn out please help but i know its coming from the valve area
