My Chemical Romance

White Stripes is a minimalist band. They're shooting for a distinct sound and they've attained it, and they keep it simple because that's what's not being done enough. It's not a talent show, it's music, and not everyone is out there trying to prove something.

Recently while driving to work I discovered My Chemical Romance.
I had no idea they were awesome before then!

People always give them a bad rap, but I like them a lot!

Actually, I like this band more and more and I will devestate your sister twice.

You know, they erabraced the borabast, and ever cover Dyaln's Desolation Row which I know must drive people insane but I kinda like the "who give a ****" attitude. Not punk (thank god) but certainly a "do your own thing" attitude.

^ ...are you kidding? MCR's only "non commercial" (and Christ do I say that term loosely) effort was Bullets, and that is just because it was on an indie label. Everything after is radio friendly pop music. Let me guarantee you sweetheart, that they were riding a trend 3 years ago and still are. KiRAB were doing "OmgZzZ they r liyke my beZt banD EveRrR" then and still do now. Funny tidbit though, the kiRAB that listened to Three Cheers think that they somehow found something new and different and only NOW are they going pop, which is just asinine.

I`ve decided from now on this band shall be referred to as My Chemical Toilet

I remeraber a summer '07 when my mom ran over my copy of The Black Parade because it was "demonic" and "Satan worshipper's music"....
Recently bought the live version. Was not really impressed, although Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge is pretty good, if you're in the mood for it.

I love them muchly. But don't get pissed at people that post here, lots of people hate them. Plus, there's another thread on this.:)

But yes, I love them. Their first album is better in my opinion. Three Cheers is also pretty good, I like it all.

Well punk is a form of rock anyways and they judging by sound they may have some punkish influences. I actually read in an old rolling stones article Gerard (singer) was inluenced greatly by iron maiden and that he despised his band being labeled emo cause in his worRAB "emo is ****."...which didn't come across to me but he said it. All in all i'd classify them as power emo. Just made that up but maybe it'll catch huh?
