My Center Fog/Drv Light

Since I got the bike, about a month ago, I have been run into TWICE. Apparently, people can't see the bike, but I am willing to bet it's just plain old ignorance. SO, here is what I added today:

Cant miss it now, it is aimed up a higher than the headlight, onlya 55Watt bulb, and looks pretty good. The camera shows the ball of light, but to the naked eye, it does not look like that. I can also always update the bulb to a SilverStar to match the headlamp...

It is mounted to that plastic center piece there, on the under side. You have to center the mounting bracket with the bolt on the signal lamp assembly, as the plastic piece is not centered. If you mount between the bolts that hold the plastic piece on, it will be to the left (looking at the bike from the front). Good thing there is that center bolt in the front signal assembly to center with.

You can also see the WHITE light of my headlamp, which is a SilverStar H4 bulb.

I know, you can see the wires there, I am going to LOOM them later...

I also added signal lamps to the Windshield, I will get pics as soon as I can, they flash so you have to time the camera shot with the signal being on, and that's not easy with a Cell Phone camera....

Well if it works for you go for it...It does look a little different. Myself I bought a headlight modulator for about $60.00 and it makes the headlihgt flash at about 220 flashes per minute. It is on an eye that makes it work as a headlight at night. I have had people stop at light and jump out to lell me I have a short in my system and get alot of stares. BUT they do see me.

Twice!

I was going to go across a bridge, a lady in a Mini Van yielded like she was supposed to. I got 5 feet in front of her, and she stepped on it. Rather than lose my saddle-bag, I stuck out my elbow out, leaned my body as far left as possible, and pushed off. This was the SECOND week I owned the new bike.

The second time, a lady stopped at a stop sign in front of me. There was a car sitting in the street, a guy directing traffic, but NOTHING in her way of her left turn. She decides, for NO good reason, to back up, and smash into my front fender. I did not know there was any damage till Friday the 6th of July. There is a scuff mark on it.

Those were the two hits, but the others were near misses, at least SIX times since I got the bike, someone's pulled out when I get within 15 feet of them, the idiots. Just horrible people that do not look where they are going...

I am so sick of people and their ignorance...

I put a headlight modulator (Diamond Star) on my bike. It works wonderful. I know people see it because they slow down and sometmes even pull over whenever I come in sight. I've seen speeding cars suddenly slow down both coming at me and pulling away from me. I've been filpped off several times when an impatient driver finally smartens up and realizes I'm not a cop. The modulator flashes the headlight all the time. It is hooked up through an eye that automatically turns it off at night or when going through a tunnel. You know how quickly you notice a cops flashing lights, this works the same way. It's legal in all states and really gets a STUPID drivers attention.
Just for the record, I don't work for the company, I just love the product and know that it works.

Yeah, the modulators were illegal for a while, and some cops still pull you over for it. There was a problem with that here in PA, so if you have a modulator, it is recommended you carry a copy the declaration from the Department of Transportation, stating that they are legal, as long as they flash within the set parameters. They are not allowed to flash (pulse) less than 180 times a minute (three flashes a second), something like that.
