I got a new Verizon phone on July 6th. It was LG touch screen. After a couple of weeks it was freezing up and was dialing numbers when I carried it in my purse (couldn't lock the phone). So I went to the Verizon store on June 29th and exchanged it for another phone this time it was LG enV touch screen This worked for a couple of weeks then this also started freezing up. I have a broken right foot and need surgery, so my doctor said not to be on my foot until he finds out from the CT scan how bad it is. So after my CT scan and my doctor's visit I went back to the Verizon closest to where I live , this time on July 29th. The store said I am over 30 days, they didn't care to see my doctor's report. The manager said they have to give me a refurbished phone. So I went to the store in Westwood, where I originally bought it, the manager said she is making an exception and gave me a new phone(that's what they said, it looked used) of the same model but didn't give me the box or any of it's contents. I came back with the phone, and found out that when I dial to get my voicemail, the screen blanks out and I can't dial the password. So I took it back again today, the manager again suggested that they have to order a refurbished phone because thay don't have it in stock. So I went to another Verizon store and they told me that the store in Westwood had 29 phones in stock. Anyway, he gave me a brand new phone.
During my cell phone saga while I was waiting at the stores I saw a number of people coming to the store with cell phone problem and a brown box in hand, I think those are the refurbished phones. I would like to get in touch with people who are getting fooled by these Verizon stores. If you feel that you have been through similar problem please leave a note. I think they are recycling old phones in the store claiming those to be brand new, I have been using cell phones since 1991, never had this kind of problem. I don't believe mine is an isolated incident.
