Hi,

I'm pretty good with computers but I need some help! I have a linex acer aspire one laptop and it needs to be rebooted.

It comes with a cd-rom ... however because the laptop does not take cd-rom's i need to make a flash-drive.

When i put in the cd-rom on my computer and copy or move the contents to the flash-drive and then put it in the laptop it says 'No bootable partition in table'

What am I doing wrong?

Operating systems are not like regular files, you can't just copy them over.

There is a program out there called "unetbootin" that is specifically made to help make bootable linux flash drives. Just find the website, download the program, and follow the tutorials to use it.

Best of luck.
