We have and herb garden above our sink, which the cats used for a litter box for a few weeks until I caught them in the act. Now I can't get anything to grow, I think they completely destroyed the viability of the soil. Normally I would just toss the soil back into the compost bin, but we actually do have some aloe and garlic plants that are flourishing, but we can't get anything else to sprout (trying for basil, cilantro, cloves, anise). Is there some way we can restore the soil without pitching the few plants that managed to survive?
