My cat was making weird noises?

My cat was making weird noises this morning. It was't really a sneeze or a cough but somewhere in between and he did it about 5x. When he started doing this he lay on his stomach and wouldnt move at all. I even picked him up and he did not squirm at all. He usually squirms if I pick him up while he's walking around happily and he was walking around just before the noises. After he stopped making the noises he got back up but then did it once or twice again. Anyone know what it could be?
 
If your cat's personality doesn't change at any other time apart from while doing this for the next few days, and it doesn't hapen more than say 3 times a day I think he is ok. It is more than likley a hairball, maybe he just didn't manage to cough it up that time. if he does it a lot (say I guess more than 5-10 times) in the day, or does it a few times each day over a long period (over a week say) I would call the vet. Just to be sure nothing else is wrong with him.
Also keep an eye on his personality as I said before, and how livley he is. If it was not a hairball but something more serious (which I doubt it was) he will change. Then the second you notice something wrong, contact your vet immediatley. Call them I mean, just to be sure.

But as I said, if your cat stays the same and does this infrequently, it is just a hairball.
 
he might have gotten into some thing thats poisionous to cats, like certain plants. Or, he might have eaten a piece of string, my cats do that all the time. or a hairball. you should get to the vet so you can get a proper check-up!
