She's sitting by the window screaming and hissing at something outside. freaking out the dog, her kitten and me. so i took them and myself to my room and shut the door and left her to roam the house but lately she's been acting distant. I know i sound stupid but I'm really nervous, i don't know if she's just angry or its some side affect of some illness. Please help. Ps- she's up to date with all her shots the only thing is she is an outdoor cat but those noises weren't the ones of when she wants to be outside - they were scary, aggresive and a little depressing.

Some other animal, very likely another cat, is around and she's protecting her territory. When she's outside she's able to chase it off, but when she's in all she can do is make threatening noises.

You can try closing the drapes or shutters or keeping her away from the windows. Don't get between her and the window when she's doing this as a cat in "warning" mode will lash out unexpectedly.

She probably saw another animal out there and was reacting by making those noises.

I once had a cat that was an indoor cat. When she saw a bird or squirrel outside her mouth would chatter like but no sounds came out. I thought it was funny to see her do that.

I'm sure your cat is fine and is just reacting to something she saw out there.

is she fixed?

if no, then that is most likely the answer. please, get her fixed.

If she's looking out the window, stalking the windows, and trying to get out the door, she's just being a cat.

there may be another rival cat in the neighborhood, my cats always freak out & turn very territorial (quite unusual from their loving, "wont-hurt-a-fly" attitude around us).

She probably saw something she wanted to hunt or another cat in "her" territory. You wouldnt let her go do what it was that she wanted to do, now she is mad. Ignore her for a bit and she will get over it.

did you recently do any yardwork outside on anything. even though in my case i have a dog whenever we make changes outside he is really confused

I'd go to a vet. Could be a lot of things. Don't assume because you have shots that the cat can't be sick with something it was vaccinated for. Could be rabies, brain cancer... or just a mood that your cat is in.

Nobody here is going to be able to give you a solid, for sure, reliable answer. Sorry.
