i'm taking him to the vet this afternoon, but until then, what could be wrong? he's13+, mostly feral, male, fixed, has a cold the last days which is going away now, had his vaccinations, had an infection in the mouth a few weeks ago which was treated. the vet has seen him a few weeks ago and given him an xray or ultra sound, and said his hip bone doesn't go all the way into the hip because he was born like that, and it used not to bother him but now he's getting older it might and he lost some weight, maybe because of the infection in the mouth which casued him to eat less, and is a bit anemic. i didn't get the iron pills, yet, so he hasn't been taking any.
he goes outside, because when i got him twelve years ago he was depressed for months till i let him out, which he wanted desperately. and he's huge.
the stool is a lot but not really watery and some of it outside the litter box. i noticed a stool smell from him yesterday or two days ago but thought it was nothing.
this morning he won't eat and won't walk much, only to the sofa in the next room, or play or follow me like he always does. he just lays curled in a half ball on the sofa and sleeps.
just wonder what could be wrong with him because my other cat died two years ago from an enlarged heart and also had pkd (persian) and i'm a bit paranoid.

the vet gave him a blood test a few weeks ago and said everything is ok except for being slightly anemic. he had one too many urinary infections so now he eats special food for that, has been for months. so i didn't change his food all of a sudden or anything like that.
