I have a 4 year old male neutered cat that we have had since he was 5 weeks old. He was dumped in a dumpster if you are wondering why we had him so young. He has always been a good cat, pretty normal. About 2 years ago we got a puppy, it didn't affect him too much. He wasn't around quite as much, became a little more independent, would just do his own thing. Now in the past 2 weeks he has been acting odd. He has been running around like he ate an entire bag of catnip, knocking things over, scooting the rugs across the floor. He has been really clingy which he usually isn't, always has to be around right in our faces, even goes up and sits next to the dog, which he usually stays away from the dog because the dog chases him. He also has been stealing A LOT of food off the counter. Usually he would jump up there and lick plates in the sink or such, but now he is stealing whole pieces of pizza, hamburgers, fillets of fish, pieces of chicken. He has also been an indoor cat for all 4 years we have Had him, and now he is sneaking out and getting outside. My dog is currently pregnant and is due any day now, and I don't know if that has anything to do with how my cat is acting but that is the only thing that has changed. Is there something wrong with my cat? Do I have to worry about him around the new puppies?
