Yes the fur will grow back! If you can, pick up the cat and pet it, (petting will be a distraction) put some A&D or triple antibiotic ointment on the wound. You might need the help of a friend. If you can get the cat to snuggle with you for a while awesome if not it's fine the cat will lick that spot, his saliva will clean it up (it will take longer to heal), but if he will lay with you apply it daily and it will heal up in no time. Don't worry if the cat licks the ointment off, it won't harm him and it has an oily feel to it so it wont completely come off.
