I installed new sony speakers, and after about a week, it blew out!
Heres my story..
I had my old sony speakers in the front and back of my car, and they started blowing out as I played them too loud.. I placed the volume at 24 out of 35. ..
I then upgraded to a better sonys rear speakers(SONY XS-GT6935A), which is alot louder, and as for the front speakers, they are louder than my old front speakers as well.
I installed the new speakers, and they were great. I placed the volume 25-27 of 35. And the bass was deeper as well. The sounds were crystal clear.
I used it for a few days everything was going great with loud deep bass music (r&b, rap, pop, etc), but then all of a sudden, the speakers in the front and back blew out! I was scared, so I turned the stereo off for 5 minutes, and decided to see how it sounded. All of a sudden the speakers were working normally again, loud with a deep bass sound.. I was confused why that happened.. Was it because the stereo couldn't handle it or the speakers blew out?
Then I continued playing the music 24-27 of 35 and everything was ok for a few days after, then it happened again, it blew out, turned off for 5 minutes, and it was playing normal. A few days later, it happened again, but this time it was a permanent blow out. The sound is ok only up to 15-18(has a clear sound), but when I get to 19 and up, my speakers start blowing out and making that nasty broken speaker noise..
I also noticed that was fishy was that the front and rear speakers blew out at the same time.. I thought the front speakers would blow out first since they're not as strong as the rear speakers.
My question is... did I blow my speakers out? Or did I somehow blow out my stereo? If thats even possible. My stereo is 50 watts 4x channel by kenwood.
Or was it because I played it so loud where the bass unwired my wires(I installed the speakers myself, and haven't added electrical tape or sodder the wires)
Thanks for any help!
