car soon? I have a Toyota Corolla S 2001 4 door sedan. I bought it used at 67,000 miles for $10,000.00 in full payment at a certified used Toyota dealership. I had to get a car right away after my last one was totaled. Did not have much time to really focus on shopping for awhile. This was the best deal out of all seen. However ,since I've owned it now for 2 and 1/2 years the engine light has come on quite a few times landing me in the shop each time paying an average of $3000-$5000 every time on repairs! I have to go to the shop again this month and it was in there in January because of engine light again. I'm at 128,000 in miles right now.
Now grant it, it could be the cause from the previous owner not taking care of it and we could be just getting the constant left overs in repairs? However, it's rediculous. I have never known anyone to go through repairs and shop time as much as I have the last 2 years .What do you think? Time for a newbie and retire this car? I just can't afford a car payment though =(
And I don't have a job right now where I can't say I've been there a year to get financing =(
