I have a 2003 Chevy Impala. About 4 months ago, I began to hear a humming noise (slight vibration) when my car's speed reaches about 45-50 mph and I don't know what it could be. The noise gets louder the closer I get to 50mph, but once I hit 50mph, the noise disappears completely. Before I started hearing this noise, I hit a curb and blew a tire...and in turn bent the rim. Well, I was originally told that the noise was coming from the bent rim. I got a new rim. Still hearing noise.
My tires are new and the car has about 116k miles. Any help about either problem is appreciated. Thank you.
Also, I took it to Firestone and was told it's the transmission...however I don't feel the car having any trouble shifting/catching gears.
Is this a possibility as well?
