My car is making this strange sound, what could be the possible problems?

I avoided getting an oil change for about three weeks and finally got the chance to get it change but now Im noticing a ewww shreech that I think is coming from the engine whenever I accelerate and even worse when I turn. The sound dull off the longer I drive. Please tell me what could possibly be wrong with my car
