I was involved in a collision a few years ago in the morning when a car pulled out in front of me, causing me to crash into him. He was cited and I thought it was over. My insurance company calls me and asks what happened, and then asks if my headlights were on. I told them no off-handedly. They told me that it was North Carolina law to have my lights on before sunrise, which they stated was 7:30 am by NC law (the accident happened at 7:15 in October). They ended up making it no fault, and my rates went up.
I found this today: http://www.dmv.org/nc-north-carolina/safety-laws.php#Headlights
30 minutes would put me in the range of when I was allowed to have my headlights on (The streetlights were not even on, and I could see fine while driving). Is there anything I can still do? Thanks!
