about 8 months ago I parked my car in front of my house. the next day I went to start it and it wouldn't start. It just cranked and cranked. I was low on gas the first day so I figured I was out of gas. I put in a few gallons that I had sitting around for emergencies and tried to start it again but it just cranked again. I tried a few days later and it started for half a second and died. i kept on trying but no luck. Eventually the battery was out and i left my car sitting for the next 7 months.
A few days ago i decided to give it another shot with my friends optima yellowtop battery. To my surprise the car started right up like it was just running yesterday. I had no idea what was wrong with it in the first place but now that it ran it didn't matter much. Nevertheless, I bought a new decent battery and figured it would fire right up, but it didn't. It fired up for less than half a second and died. Then I cranked it and I heard it chocking a few times like it was gonna fire, but no luck. I tried with my friends yellowtop optima again to see if that made a difference, but it didn't. So i'm puzzled now.
Do you have any idea what's wrong with it, or any suggestions on what i should try and do? The gas tank is about half full right now.
Thanks
PS: the car is a 1991 Toyota Camry 2.0L 4-cylinder with a 5-speed.
