Whenever i try taking a photo at night inside with very dim light, even with the ISO at the highest, the flash will twitch.
seeing as how the photo's i take without the flash suck because they are always blurry i have to use a flash.
what can i do to prevent my flash from twitching?
should i buy an external flash?
or should i just stick to my cheaper digital camera for night photos?
better terminology: flickers

It sounds like you have your flash set for "Red Eye Reduction". It will flash a couple of times at low power to reduce the size of your pupils so your eyes don't look red. Look in you manual to change the settings for your flash.
