Good thing it wasn't a newer vehicle, because otherwise like you said you wouuld have been more pissed.

a 98 ranger did you lift it? because if not that truck is pussy get a fucking f-150...sorry my ranger died in the middle of a snow storm and i had to sit around for 3 hours while AAA responded.

rolling is no fun either me and my dad rolled in an oil truck when i was younger when we unbuckled my seatbelt i fell on my head.
 
My buddy has a little ranger 2wd >1993 I think< He has put it through the mud and everything else. He has even wrecked it a few times. The truck lives!! If its not completely totaled then fix it up, it would be fun and a nice project to get your mind off of things. If the frame is fine just restore it or sell it to someone or the scrap it at the scrap yard for $$$

And, just for the record, there was nothing wrong with the engine. It had almost 300 000 km on it and ran like new.

Even if I were able to get ahold of it, which I can't, I would have no room to put it or fix it if I wanted to.
