My boyfriend needs an appartment but he's in jail what should he do?

My boyfriend and I have a 19 month old baby. He's in jail in NH which is where we were living since he's been in jail I moved to Connecticut to live with my dad. Now he's going to be out soon but needs a place to live because my dad won't let him live with us how can he find an appartment or a rooming house with no money? I don't know what to do because we want him to be closer to the baby so he can start being in his life again. But the jail won't let him out untill he has a place to live. Is there anyone out there who has been through this before?

They will let him out when his sentence has completed. He does not need to have a place to go, but his parents are his best bet. He won't find anything until after he has a job and can actually pay rent.

I guess you will not be able to have everything you want all at once.

Since he has no support system in Connecticut, he will have to find friends or family in NH to go to when he gets out. Then he can get a job, save his money and support his child.

The jail would have a social services officer associated with it. He or she will discuss your boyfriend's situation with your boyfriend himself.
You can make some telehone enquiries on his behalf, of course. But I'm sure they will assist him to move to a half-way house as close to you as possible. Your fellow would then get help in finding a job and it will be up to him to make his money count to save for getting a place where you and the baby can join him. I wish you all the very best but this is not going to be easy, you must realise. It is never easy for anybody, just don't get upset about it taking longer than what you think it should. He will need to know that you are on his side, so no getting upset with him, either. Cheers.

There's not really that much you can do without any money. Instead of looking into an apartment, try finding somebody who's renting out a single room of their house for like $300-$500 a month. That's the average price for an apartment, way cheaper than an apartment. Maybe try getting a small loan out and if you don't qualify, have a creditworthy co-signer or ask friends and family for a loan? At least just so you or your boyfriend can find a job and repay them. Good luck!!
