My blackberry curve isn't connecting to my computer so I can add things? PLEASE help =/?

Evertime I put the cable in the computer it makes a noise like the computer acknowledges it was connected with the computer. But when I try to set it up it says "cannot install this hardware" Click back if you have a floppy disk or if you know the location of the software. I've tried everything. Please help, oh it's sprint with no sim but i have pictures i want to upload
