My bike is TOO nice, how can i get my parents to buy me a crappier one?

my father bought me a REALLY nice specialized mountian bike, i love riding it and its beautiful. but heres the thing, i live in NYC so i would really prefer a crappy street bike, that 1: wouldnt get ruined on the cement and 2: wont be a huge travesty if it gets stripped/stolen

sooo, how can i get a street bike? i understand that buying it is how to get it, but should i just tell my dad or should i wait until my bike does get wrecked or hint for months?

tell them u'd rather ride a manky bike just incase anything happens to it

Tell your dad you are afraid it will get ripped of and you want a junker to ride around on. Keep the Specialized for when you don't have to worry about locking it up where it will get stolen.
