my bike dies when shifting to gear one with the clutch lever fully pulled, why?

i have 2009 Triumph bonneville , everytime i turn on the engine and warm up the bike then fully pull the clutch lever and shift to gear (any gear) the bike dies instantly with the clutch pulled! dies with no movment at all ,sidestand is up, need help here i believe it's a small issue that i still can't figure out. help pointing it out for me pls? thnx
 
Does the bike move forward as it dies? That would indicate a clutch issue (could be just the cable or inside the clutch). But that's unlikely with such a new bike I think. Otherwise the engine kill switch down by the side stand is likely broken or stuck. There isn't any other engine kill mechanism that I'm aware of.
