My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding

Maybe because they were a 'settled' family? We have some nearby and I have the impression that there is some snobbery from the houseless travellers that the ones who live in houses are cultural sell-outs, and they don't really mix? The ex-boxer on the show made similar comments too. Though it was interesting that the dressmaker said it was one of the more relaxed traveller weddings she'd ever been to.

Another thing that had me puzzled was at the start of the show they said they were following 4 traveller weddings, but there were only 3. Bridget, Sammy Jo and Joan. Did they miss one out?

Poor joan I hope she's happy. Brilliant show. You would think a bride would a dress that makes her walk elegantly not hobble clumsly down the isle. I couldn't believe some
of them wore tracksuits and goodies to a wedding. Disrespectful. And some of the bridesmaiRAB jeebus.

One of the brides (Sami-Jo?) said they marry cousins so yep interbreeding does happen!!

I have to confess that I found the last wedding really upsetting (PMT what can I say  :o) that poor girl had never left her Mum and Dad and there she was getting palmed off with Ricky Hatton's ugly brother  When she was dancing with her Dad to "I loved her first" I was all

I think the program showed travellers in a very positive light actually..... Not that it's changed my mind overall - but they are probably the only community in this day and age that face so muc hatred!!!

Agreed but Elvis Presley and Alf Ramsey kept quiet, although Charlie Chaplin and Eric Cantona, Michael Caine,Bob Hoskins, AND ALL THE REST didnt think it important nor should it be.All good stock. ;)
