Just seen ' My big, fat Greek Wedding '. Absolutely loved it, hilarious stuff. I am Greek myself and I can tell you that this film is such a realistic potrayal - in fact, the reality is perhaps even more ludricous !

Anyway does any one have any back ground stuff on this. Was it a book ? Tom Hank's involvement ? Cost ? Please share. Thankyou.
 
I believe it was original a stage play or something along those lines and Tom Hanks's Wife saw it one day and persuaded tom to get his production company to make it into a film
 
You'll be pleased to know that a series "My Big Fat Greek Family" is being developed by CBS for airing early next year in the US. I think it has most of the main cast from the movie with the main exception being the male love interest, who has other commitments.

I was watching 'this morning' on ITV yesterday and the author and star of the film was on it. She said it was just like her family, although she thought she had exaggerated it a bit, her frienRAB could see that it was exactly like her. Its supposed one of the most successful independent films of all time.

I havn't yet seen it but i think it looks good.
