I know people say pedal faster and it'll go faster, but I can pedal as fast as I want and it still stops accelerating after a certain speed. What should I do?

replace the wheel bearings. and get a differeent cogset with high gear ratios so you can stretch out longer over distances

Pedal faster and the bike will go faster.

This is a 100% certainty. The pedal and the tire are connected by a chain and sprockets... there is a ratio between the rpm of the pedal to the tire for every gear combo you've got. If you increase the rpm of the pedal, you'll increase the rpm of the tire according to the ratio defined by the gear combo.

the only thing i can think of, are make your tieres thiner, if you are large, i will eccomend that you loose some weight. But if you are slim then don't.

Little things like, how you possition your body when cycling always helps and always have a bottle holder and a bottle in your frame, that produces less drag than without one.

So think about what possition if best for you, try making your tieres thiner and be more aerodynamic.

Time trial handlebars reduced ALLOT of time with every mile you do. But with you pedaling faster, thats good.

Change your tires. Rolling resistance is the largest factor, in slowing a bike down. The quieter a tire is on pavement...the faster it is. Slicks are the fastest.
