He went back to his doctor who put him on INH (Ioniazid). He then decided to go to the hospital for more testing that week. They admitted him for a week. They ran all the necessary tests on him to determine whether or not his TB was active or inactive. They ran extensive blood tests, sputum culture tests, cat scan within the 6 days.
Everything came back negative. He was on his 5th day of taking Ioniazid but was told to stop taking it by the infectious disease doctor as well as the other two doctors who examined him When he went back to his primary doctor his doctor took him off of INH. He had consulted with the other doctors from the hospital. The doctor said if he was feeling well then he does not need to take it.
I am assuming the doctors know what there doing or they wouldn't be there in the first place. But I heard that if you stop taking INH that the germs can become resistant to the drug and grow faster. But I guess in this case since it is inactive which I found that your body protects you by building a wall around the germs the way a scab forms over a cut. This makes the germs go to "sleep" and stops them from hurting your body will not grow am I right????
Should he have continued taking this drug????
If for some reason in the future he were to be put on INH again will the germs be resistant to the drug because he stopped taking it? or since he only took it for 5 days it will not??
