No, that'll be fine. Just don't write anything sappy on the outside, our Drill Sergeants considered anything on the outside fair game. One girlfriend kept writing stuffy like "Lovey Baby I Miss You" all over her pink envelopes. That guy was teased.
 
im not sending any dirty pics but i was reading they give them a hard time about decorations. and well i typed up the address on the envelope and added color to it but would they give him a hard time for it cuz i dont want him getting yelled at.
 
He won't get yelled at, but he'll get teased by his other enlistees or his drill instructor.

Keep it simple, write him a letter and send a picture of yourself [Not dirty] so he can brag about you to his friends he meets.
 
The Drill Instructor might.

Just put it in a plain envelope and decorate the letter. The DI's can't go through your mail, but they will have you open packages in front of them to make sure there is no contraband in there.

We never got yelled at for our mail. If the Rank was wrong, we did push-ups.

We also did 10 push-ups for every letter. I didn't mind, it only makes you stronger.
 
The DI's do but its all in good fun, next time put lipstick on and kiss the outside of the envelope. I had a friend do that to me when i was in. Great times, it will be a story for him to tell down the road
