My betta fish has a emerging white bump growing atop the side of his head?

What could this be and what should I use to treat it. I do not believe it is Ick because it is a single bump...

I've had him for over a year. He lives solitary in a 1.5 gallon tank with a filter and water heater.
 
Most of the time when a fish gets a wierd bump they die. sorry to say but they do. Just live out the rest of the days with him. You never know it might go away. good luck!
 
It is either an ulcer (from slightly over-feeding over a long period of time) or cancer. There isn't much you can do, your fish will die.
