I just got my beta yesterday. The food I am trying to feed it is beta food. They are little pellets, but my beta will not eat them. Do you think it is scared and it will just take a little while to get use to it's new place? Is there another kind of fish food that I could use as a substitute? Please help, I do not want my fish to die. :(

Sometimes it appears like your betta isn't eating. That's what happened to my crowntail betta, Bubbles. It looked like he wasn't eating, but whenever I left, the food would be gone. Eventually he started to trust me and would eat the food even when I was there.

If your fish still appears like it won't eat, then try feeding it freeze-dried brine shrimp or a new type of pellet. Hikari Bio-Gold Betta Pellets are really healthy for your betta. Or you may just be feeding it too much. It only needs 1-3 pellets (depending on its size) 2-3 times a day. Hope this helps!
Good luck w/your betta! :-)
