I was doing my p/t stretches b-4 bed and my back is in spasms and low back pain. It is one of those pains that when they happen you wonder what will happen, will the disc herinate and press more into the nerve and be in worse shape.

Hello-I completly understand about spasms. I have a problem with excessive spasms and they do hurt like anything. Numerous times I have called my Dr. and had to be seen early, because I was sure something had gone wrong. But I can assure you that everytime that I have gone in, my Dr. doesn't do any new MRI's etc. because the spasms don't cause any new problems. They just have to find what works to lessen my spasms.

What have you tried already? What are your days like...do you work or are you at home?

Tell me what you have tried and I will try to see if I have tried anything else.

Try not to think about whether or not you have worsened your spine condition...spasms are just painful and will get better, it is just time consuming. Please don't think that I am making spasms seem like a small thing, it isn't. But the spasms themselves shouldn't cause addn'l. damage.

Hi

Yes i am no stranger to debilitating back spasms.

I have always been told about any stretches or exercises that if it hurts DONT do it!!

I have 2 buldging discs in low back and 2 in neck. Today spasms and low back pain have eased but my neck and head hurt like H$ll. One of the worst headaches I have had in quite a while.
I took vicotin 3 hours ago and head and neck still hurt.

I had p/t this morning too and it helped for about 30 minutes and flamed right back up and is worse. I have tmj also, so p/t has to be careful about neck work as it flares up tmj pain. My neck has gotten worse with p/t while low back seems to be stablizing some.

If the pain does not ease up within few hours, I may go to e/r and get a pain shot later.

I have had recent mri's of neck and back and both have worsened over last 3 years. Both buldges are hitting a nerve, so I am sure this aggravates an already painful situation.

I will check back later or tomorrow--thanks for the replies.
