My automatic 1998 Dodge Dakota has no acceleration in 1st gear no matter what I

do. If I manually shift....? from first gear then up to second and then into drive, it shifts fine. But if I leave the auto transmission on its own, I cannot get the truck to go over about 1200-1400 RPM and it is incredibly slow... Has any experienced something like this and have you been able to change out a fuel filter (or different parts..) to fix the problem?
