I'm 2 - 3 months behind on my auto loan(I'm unemployed and it's difficult to make payments). I've been pretty good at getting that last minute payment in, but communications with my auto-loan creditor are becoming ridiculous. I only owe $2,800 on the car out of $12,000
I never once missed a payment until I was (honorably)involuntarily discharged from the US Army(for a personality disorder that I don't,in fact, have, but that's a whole other issue).

Anyway, my phone broke about a week ago, the day it went down, I called and left a voice mail to my creditor(consumer portfolio services, or CPS) to let them know that I would be sending in a payment on august 5th(just prior to that I was in jail because I couldn't make bond on a driving on suspended charge that was dropped, I spent 3 weeks in jail for a freaking cop error, and during this time was unable to collect unemployment).

Anyway, today (and on many other occasions) the auto loan company called MY MOTHER, AT WORK, demanding that SHE pay my car payment, and harrassing her, as well as leaving threatening messages with her to give to me. First off, I have NEVER giving them permission to talk to anyone else about my debt, so they shouldn't even be telling her ANYTHING about my account with them, let alone demanding that she pay it(she has nothing to do with my car loan, she's not a co-signer, nothing.

I'm having trouble finding a civil lawyer in the 48240 (Redford/metro Detroit area) that specializes in debt collectors/creditors harrassing and violating state laws and the FDCPA.

I fully intend on paying off the car, they know that by the fact I didn't miss a payment for 3 freaking years(until being involuntarily discharged by the military) so I don't need to hear from the "just pay your debts" people. I do make my payments, all be it late because I'm unemployed and money is hard to come by.

I just need to know of some local lawyers that could help out in this matter(by suing the auto loan place)
