my atari 2600 games are acting weird.?

i baught an atari 2600, with many games, it worked fine, but now theres something funny going on. in berzerk, i cant shoot up. in pac man, theres lines dragging behind pac-man, and i go near a ghost, i die. i go near a power pill, it automaticly eats it for me. that is not a good thing. in taz, the same weird lines are following me, and if dynomite goes even near me, i die. in enduro, when im playing my car crashes and it dosent come back, it just stays there and rocks back and forth making a strange sound. in stampede, the lines in front of me are so long, i cant use my rope to capture animals. it cant be the cartrages. also, i keep then on a bookshelf. is that a good place to put them? will my atari survive? this problem does not seem to happen in breakout, super breakout and video olympics (pong sports)
 
The atari 2600 is an old console. the problems may be coming from it having been played a lot. like for example with any cartridge game (like N64 games) if you play them lott or turn the console on and off commonly then the game starts to wear and eventually not work at all. its just a sign that your 2600 games are reaching the end of their rope. but with the ones where nothing weird is happening they have Altot longer.
