Hm. You may have entered the enchanted forest. If your computer becomes convinced you're an imposter, you'll have trouble with it. When you say "setup", I assume you mean the bios setup?
It probably didn't have a password on it until you went in and typed one in. Now it wants that password. The fact that you are trying to type in a password longer than the computer will take tells us you typed in something you don't exactly remember. Try and think back to what your first attempt was.
If you still can't get in, you need to clear the password.Maybe the manufacturer can advise you or if someone knows a generic that'll get you in.
After that, you're still going to have whatever your original problem was that kept the 'puter from starting.
Have you tried booting from your start-up disc? Did you even get one?
Once you get this fixed, try and avoid working on your computer when you're mad. In addition, unless you really know what you're doing, stay out of the bios setup. The reason is the one you tripped over: one careless keystroke can shut you down. Also avoid the registry unless you're really knowledgeable.
Don't you know a computer nerd that you can bribe with food and vast amounts of soda to help you? Offer them highly caffinated drinks and fireball hard candy. If they accept, place the computer in front of them with all of it's everythings and back away. Sit quietly and wait. Don't help. Don't talk.
Good luck.
