my 98 honda civic dx has been stalling when im stopped at a red light.whats wrong?

okay im driving in town and i have been or about 45 minutes, i stop at a red light and all of a sudden i feel my car start to stutter and want to die so i shift the car into neutral and push both the brake and the gas pedal to keep it from turning off on me in the middle of the street. then as soon as the light turns green i put it in drive and try to get home with as few stops as possible. what is wrong with my car?

does it idle high then drop when u stop? if so then its yr iacv(idle air control valve) it needs cleaned or u need a new one, have it checked out.
