You need a heads done and milled.

Can you give us more detail as far was what it's doing? Is the car starting? Is it hard to start? Is it running rough?

the way it sound it can be the catalic converter,when is not good any more it looses power and the service engine light come on(sometimes)
and you said you washed the outside of the car because to be honestwhen someone wash the engine in some cars a sensor get wet and the car start actin up im not saying that you did it
